Bek joined TCV in 2020 as Chief People Officer, bringing more than 20 years of human resources experience. She is responsible for global talent acquisition and growth, employee experience, performance, rewards, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Bek was previously head of talent at Atlassian, where she oversaw all talent functions as well as diversity and belonging for more than 4,000 people. Prior to that she led Atlassian’s global HR business partner function. Bek started her career at Microsoft and held HR business partner roles in the Digital Sport, Engineering, and Nike+ divisions at Nike. She has also worked as a family systems therapist and collegiate basketball coach. Bek loves to travel, read, write, and cook. Her favorite sport is basketball – she was a four-year starting point guard in college – and is known to try nearly any sport she comes across, including rock climbing, Ninpo martial arts, semi-professional tackle football, boxing, running, and snowboarding. Born into a family of 10 children, Bek is comfortable dealing with complex interpersonal dynamics, building human pyramids, and attending large parties. Bek holds a B.A. in Economics and Psychology with a Minor in Leadership Studies from Claremont McKenna College and an M.A. in Community Counseling specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy from Marquette University. Bek earned a board-certified license in professional counseling (LPC) in the State of Wisconsin.
