Mr. Cotton is a Principal and Assistant General Counsel of Riverstone. He is based in New York. Prior to joining Riverstone in January 2018, Mr. Cotton was an attorney at Vinson & Elkins L.L.P., where he specialized in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, fund formation and led the firm’s venture capital and emerging companies practice in the New York office. Mr. Cotton received his B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in the state of New York.
