Abel Halpern joined Palamon in 2019 as a Partner. Abel is the Founder and CEO of KETERM Ltd, an investment firm focused on longer-tenure and strategic private equity, focused primarily on China, Israel, Brazil and Latin America. He also serves as a Senior Advisor to XINJIN, a recently formed investment firm affiliated with the CITIC Group, one of China’s largest conglomerates, and REYL & Cie, a Geneva-based financial services firm. From 1994-2017, Abel was associated with TPG Capital where he was a Senior Partner and worked extensively in their consumer and retail area and non-US markets. Early in his career, he worked as a strategy consultant for Bain & Company, primarily in Latin America. Abel received a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude with Distinction in History from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University, where he received a Goldsmith Fellowship. Abel serves on the Board of Directors of Rumo SA, a Brazilian public company. Abel is also Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs at Yale University and serves on the Board of the Yale School of Music, is a member of the Yale President’s Council on International Activities, among other not-for-profit activities.
