Curt Whittaker, Managing Partner, has spent over 30 years in the renewable energy industry as legal counsel to developers, investors, and lenders, working on landfill gas, wind, hydroelectric, solar, and biomass development projects. Curt has worked with the NEC investment team since 2004, serving as lead counsel on the majority of NEC’s investment activities related to biomass, bio-materials, hydroelectric, landfill gas, and solar development. While serving as general counsel for NEC, Curt is also a senior partner and head of the Energy Practice at Rath, Young & Pignatelli in Concord, NH. Prior to working with Rath, Young & Pignatelli, Curt was a member of the Energy Practice at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, California. Curt’s legal practice spans all aspects of the development and financing of renewable generation facilities in the United States and Canada, from site acquisition through EPC negotiations to construction and term financing. Curt is a graduate of the College of William & Mary (BA in Economics) and Harvard Law School (JD).
