Al co-founded Ironbridge in September, 2005. Prior to Ironbridge, from 2003 to 2005, he was a Partner in the Equity Fund at EdgeStone Capital Partners, one of Canada’s leading middle-market private equity groups. From 1993 to 2002, he was the President / CEO or senior manager leading a series of portfolio companies primarily for private equity investors including Grocery Gateway Inc., Canada Bread Company Ltd., Blocksom & Company and SteelWorks. From 1987 to 1991, he worked for Bain & Company, an international strategy consulting firm. Al currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Gesco Industries Inc. and Gaspard LP, and is a member of the Board of Directors of Global Railway Industries Ltd. He is the former Chairman of Trimaster Manufacturing Inc. and Eurospec Manufacturing Inc., and was previously a director of Orbit Garant Drilling Inc. and the Association for Corporate Growth’s Toronto Chapter. Al holds an Honours Business Administration degree from The University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar and a John L. Loeb Fellow in Finance.
