Bio

Dan Buffery joined HarbourVest in 2016 and focuses on sourcing, analyzing, and executing a full range of real assets investments. Dan currently serves on the advisory boards of a number of partnerships including those managed by Energy Capital Partners and Global Infrastructure Partners. Dan joined the Firm after almost ten years with OPTrust Private Markets Group in Toronto and London where he was a director and a member of the Private Markets Investment Committee. During that time, Dan was responsible for sourcing, analyzing, executing, and managing real asset direct co-investments, secondary, and primary fund transactions. Dan started his career as an investment banking associate at the National Bank of Canada, a Canadian charted bank-owned investment dealer. He received a BBA (with honours) from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2002 and is a CFA charter holder. He speaks conversational French.
