Bruce Pixler joined the Firm in 2005 as a tax manager and was promoted to his current position as Director of Taxation in 2009, where he currently leads a team of 14 professionals. His primary responsibilities include oversight of the US (federal, state, and local) and international income and informational tax compliance process for all HarbourVest legal entities, both US-based and international. He also oversees tax-related communications with existing and prospective investors and is involved in the investment due diligence process for primary, secondary, and direct investments. Prior to HarbourVest, Bruce worked for Mellon Financial Corporation, where he was a team leader, manager of partnership accounting and taxation, and a senior client relationship officer of Mellon’s Family Office Group within the Private Wealth division. Prior to this, he worked for Parkwood Corporation and Kopperman & Wolf Co., CPAs. A certified public accountant, Bruce received his BS in Accounting from Bowling Green State University in 1981.
