Bio

Caroline McGeough is a private equity investor with more than a decade of experience acquiring and scaling infrastructure businesses, most recently with a focus on driving innovation and funding development of next-generation systems. Caroline is passionate about the opportunity to leverage technology to unlock efficiencies in how infrastructure assets operate, delivering better sustainability outcomes. Prior to joining EIP, Caroline was a Partner and founding member of Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners (SIP), a tech-enabled infrastructure investment company backed by Google’s parent Alphabet and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. While at SIP, Caroline was responsible for originating and leading investments into growth-stage technology businesses and tech-enabled infrastructure projects. Caroline also collaborated with several Alphabet business units to originate and implement strategic partnerships with SIP’s platform companies. While at SIP, Caroline led the firm’s grid edge investment platform, which is dedicated to making the US electric grid more distributed, dynamic and sustainable. Caroline also led thematic coverage and investment efforts in the logistics and recycling verticals. Prior to launching SIP, Caroline was an infrastructure and energy private equity investor at US investment firms Stonepeak and ECP for six years. While at Stonepeak, Caroline also helped to raise $7BN from global institutional investors for Stonepeak’s flagship infrastructure investment strategy. Caroline began her career as an investment banker at J.P. Morgan advising large US power and utility companies on M&A and financial and operational strategy. Caroline graduated from Duke University with a BA in Public Policy Studies, and lives in New York.
