Bio

Andrew Hartley is an Operating Partner of Corsair Buyouts based in London. Mr. Hartley started his thirty year career in private equity at 3i plc in 1988. He left in 1995 to join the mid-market private equity team at Kleinwort Benson in London, and became managing director in 1999. He led the spin–out of the business from Dresdner Kleinwort in 2001, which became August Equity. In 2010 Andrew helped found Chamonix Private Equity, to acquire businesses from distressed sellers following the financial crisis. In 2015 he was asked to set up a new mid-market business at SVG Capital plc, a listed investment trust, which he successfully achieved before the sale of SVG to a strategic buyer. Mr. Hartley has a long and successful investment record, having personally led over seventy investments in a variety of sectors and situations, acted as a board member for many of these companies, and completed numerous exits via trade sales, secondary buyouts and IPOs. Mr. Hartley has a Bsc. (Hons.) Economics & Politics from the University of Southampton, and a MBA from Cass Business School.
