Alex joined Battery in 2021 and advises the firm’s portfolio companies on a variety of growth and operational issues, including honing processes across finance, sales and M&A integration. Before Battery, Alex was the senior director of finance and operations at ClearCare, a former Battery portfolio company that offers a software platform for home care agencies. There, he worked to drive operational excellence across the business. In addition, he built out the company’s in-house finance function and helped complete ClearCare’s acquisition of HomeTrak. He was also a key member of the deal team responsible for the acquisition of ClearCare by WellSky. Prior to ClearCare, Alex worked at Vista Equity Partners and SumTotal Systems, a human capital management software company that was previously part of the Vista portfolio. His roles at Vista included private equity analyst and later consulting manager; at SumTotal, he oversaw financial planning and analysis and implemented Vista’s best practices to maximize SumTotal’s growth and profitability. Before his time in private equity, Alex worked at Google as a technical team member on Google Books and Patent Search. Alex graduated from Stanford University with a BS in electrical engineering.
