Abhijit is the Managing Partner of Accelon Capital, a private equity fund focused on small to mid-market growth companies. He has 15 years of experience in starting, growing, and operating businesses, structuring equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and as a board director. Previously, Abhijit was the CEO of Scintera (www.scintera.com), a company he co-founded in Silicon Valley in 2001. While growing Scintera, Abhijit built a top tier investor syndicate with VCs like August Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Sevin Rosen Funds, and Ridgewood Capital. Abhijit built a world class team of experienced management, engineering, marketing, and sales, and assembled an advisory board of world renowned experts and a strong board of directors. Scintera’s developed the world’s first CMOS 10G processor for enterprise networking. In 2004, the Electronics Design News recognized Scintera and Abhijit for being top innovators in the networking industry. Abhijit was involved in bringing together an international consortium of 60 companies in North America, Europe, and Asia, to support an IEEE standard to develop the 10G networking market. Scintera has also developed the world’s first RF domain signal processor for wireless communications. Scintera’s RF processor enhances the efficiency of wireless base stations - significantly reducing the capex and opex of wireless networks. Scintera sold its networking business in 2007 and continues to grow its wireless business. Prior to starting Scintera, Abhijit held management positions at National Semiconductor where he led the development and commercialization of three generations of Ethernet Networking products. He was the Chief Architect of the core Ethernet technologies which led to many successful products. He was also involved in many mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships. Abhijit has an MS in Management from Stanford Business School, an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida (where he topped the graduating class), and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has authored numerous publications and has over 50 US patents. He enjoys wind surfing, hiking, and playing the guitar.
