Jonathan Born is a partner who practises primarily in the areas of real estate and corporate and commercial law, with a particular emphasis on real estate investment transactions and property development. Jonathan provides business focused advice to clients on all aspects of real estate matters, including the acquisition, disposition, management, financing and development of all property types, as well as joint ventures, partnerships and commercial leasing. Jonathan has a particular expertise in structuring and leading real estate private equity investment transactions, including advising on tax considerations, and also has experience with complex transactions involving natural resources, technology, hospitality and other unique operating assets. Jonathan also assists both lenders and borrowers in financing transactions, and acts on a number of real estate related corporate and securities transactions. Prior to joining Wildeboer Dellelce, Jonathan practiced commercial real estate law at a full-service firm in Toronto where he acted for REITs, developers, national retailers, municipalities and financial institutions in property development, real estate, infrastructure, and financing transactions. Before entering the practice of law, Jonathan gained experience in finance, securities and banking at a global financial services company as well as at the federal Department of Finance.
