Bio

James Brown is a partner who practises in the areas of securities law and general corporate and commercial law. His practice focuses on advising issuers, investment dealers and venture capital firms with respect to securities law matters generally, with an emphasis on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and securities compliance matters. James is experienced in dealing with provincial securities commissions, the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange. In 2004, James was seconded to the Corporate Finance Branch of the TSX Venture Exchange. James joined the firm in 2002 after summering at a boutique intellectual property law firm and articling at Oslers. While at Western Law, James was awarded a number of academic prizes, including prizes for highest standing in Company Law, Commercial and Company Law combined, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Civil Procedure and Conflicts of Laws. In his spare time, James is a hockey coach with Oakville Rangers.
