Kieran Donovan is a partner in Weightmans' corporate and commercial department and joined the firm in early 2017 having previously been head of corporate from 2011 at boutique regional firm Bermans and prior to that he was a partner at international law firm DWF where he worked from 2000 to 2010. Kieran leads the firm's owner managed business group in Liverpool. He has 20 years' corporate transactional experience advising owner managed businesses and has particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions, auction sale processes, buy and build strategies, disposals, succession planning, corporate joint ventures, shareholder reorganisations as well as acting for management teams on venture capital and private equity funded transactions. Kieran also regularly acts for regional venture capital funds investing into owner managed businesses. Kieran's clients range from early stage ventures through to established businesses and he has particular expertise across a number of sectors including manufacturing, transport and logistics, aerospace, healthcare, professional practices and family businesses. He has worked on a number of notable transactions throughout his career for household names and well known brands and brings this expertise to bear for the benefit of all clients irrespective of their size. Kieran has a well deserved reputation as a dealmaker with a track record of delivering top quality expertise and a strong network of contacts in the region's business community. He is widely recognised for his commercial approach to transactions and his ability to meet clients' strategic objectives.
