Bio

Markus Pfenninger is a partner in the Transactions team. He has many years of experience in the areas of capital market transactions, mergers & acquisitions, financing, restructuring, collective investment schemes and in regulatory banking and insurance law matters. He is a member of the International Bar Association's (IBA) Task Force on the Financial Crisis and has served as Chairman of the Legal Opinions Sub-Committee and Co-Chairman of the IBA's Banking Law Committee. Born in 1963, Markus Pfenninger studied at the University of Zurich (lic. iur. 1989, Dr. iur. 1995) and at the Morin Center of Banking Law Studies, Boston University (LL.M. 1994). He then worked as a legal clerk in a Boston finance and law firm. Markus Pfenninger speaks German and English. He is entered in the lawyers' register of the Canton of Zurich.
