Solid and highly reputed experience in in the fields of corporate, banking and finance and capital markets law, both for contentious and non-contentious matters. Admitted to practice before the Italian Supreme Court. Member of the Commissione Tecnica del Fondo Indennizzo Risparmiatori (Technical Committee of the Savings Compensation Fund) established by MEF (Italian Finance and Economic Ministry). (2019). Since 2018 he is financial market law Professor at LUISS – Guido Carli, in the faculty of Law. He is also author of numerous publications regarding corporate and finance law. Since April 2019 Salvatore has been a Special Partner of Legà lia Studio in Rome and Milan, providing legal assistance (contentious and non- contentious) to categories associations in the financial sector, to self-regulatory organization as well as individual brokers and listed issuers. He was Head of Consulenza Legale (Legal Department) of the Italian Securities Markets Authority (CONSOB) from October 2011 until April 2019. He also co-ordinated the representation and legal defence of CONSOB in civil, criminal and administrative trials (included those against sanctions); he directly participated to the main litigations on institutional matters (intermediaries, markets, issuers), before higher courts (including Italian Constitutional Court and Court of Justice of the European Union). Salvatore provided legal support in institutional matters to the Commission and contributed to the drafting of the main regulatory texts on intermediaries, financial markets and listed companies. Salvatore joined CONSOB in 1989, where he has held numerous positions such as head of legal consulting and litigation department for issuers. He also participated in working groups at the Commission and at the Council of the European Union for the preparation of the “shareholder’s rights†directive. He was a member of the Commission for the reform of Corporate Law at the Italian Ministry of Justice chaired by the Member of Parliament Michele Vietti and the Commission for the coordination between the reform and the Testi Unici Bancario e dell’Intermediazione Finanziaria (Single Banking and Financial Intermediation Texts) (2001 – 2004). Salvatore collaborated to draft the Testo Unico dell’Intermediazione Finanziaria (TUF) (Consolidated Financial Text) and he also participated to the Commission chaired by Mario Draghi at the Ministry of Economy (1997 and 1998).
