Thomas Lindberg helps business clients in many industries, including food & beverage, agribusiness, renewable energy, e-commerce and technology. Tom’s experience includes advising, negotiating and closing on business equity/asset acquisition/sales; IT-related (software, hardware, licensing and SaaS agreements) agreements; intellectual property (NDA, trademark, copyright, secret deals including joint development and IP ownership agreements) agreements; design/build/operate/maintain renewable energy agreements, financing (loan, notes, security agreements); sourcing/procurement/supplier agreements, sales/broker/distribution agreements, transportation/supply chain/trading/logistics agreements, real estate purchase/sale/leases; and e-commerce (website and privacy terms). Before joining Sherman & Howard, Tom worked as an associate at Fredrikson & Byron in Minneapolis and then served as both senior corporate counsel to a global agribusiness/food company and global leader for technology procurement and North America leader for health, specialty and commodity food ingredient sales teams. He also ran his own solar equipment ecommerce business before returning to full-time law practice. Tom understands his clients’ issues because he has been there! From start-ups, to huge global matrixed organizations, to e-commerce to non-profits, he focuses on practical, real-world solutions to help his clients get to the finish line and run their business. Prior to attending law school at the University of Minnesota, Tom earned his BA in Business/Marketing from Michigan State University (GO GREEN!) and worked in sales positions at Toyota Motor Sales USA and Abbott Laboratories. Tom is licensed to practice in Colorado and Minnesota.
