Jeffrey D. Silverstein is a partner in Seward & Kissel’s Real Estate and Global Bank and Institutional Finance and Restructuring Groups. He joined the Firm in 1989. Jeff’s experience includes advising institutional and other investors in real estate and real estate related transactions throughout the United States, including the acquisition, financing, leasing, development and disposition of a wide variety of real estate and real estate related assets. His expertise includes the structuring and formation of the various entities involved in such transactions, including corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. He has extensive experience negotiating real estate joint ventures. Jeff also has broad experience representing clients in various types of financing transactions including secured and unsecured loan financing, senior and subordinate loan financing, institutional and municipal finance and private placements. He has extensive experience representing corporate trustees, collateral agents, escrow agents, administrative agents and other service providers, including the representation of such service providers, as well as bondholder and lender groups, in connection with complex defaults, workouts, and restructurings in the United States, Asia and Latin America. Jeff is a member of the American Bar Association and the Pension Real Estate Association. He received a B.A. from Washington University in 1986 and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1989.
