Adriano Villa is country partner for Japan, responsible for the Japan Desk in Milan and the Tokyo office of the studio, which he visits several times a year. Adriano is today the only Italian lawyer ever admitted to local legal practice as a lawyer under foreign law ("Gaikokuho-jimubengoshi"), in 1998. Its typical clientele is represented by large and medium-sized Japanese companies that have business relationships in Italy or with Italian companies and, specularly, by large, medium and small Italian companies that have business relationships in Japan or with Japanese companies. His experience ranges from acquisitions and mergers, corporate affairs (including joint ventures and start-up of new companies), business negotiations and drafting of related typical contracts (license, agency, distribution), arbitration and general legal advice. He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Inter Pacific Bar Association. He is also a member of the Council for relations between Italy and the United States (Young Leaders Conference), the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Italy and a founding member of the Executive Training Program Association. He was President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan from 1999 to 2002. Since 1994 he has been President of the Showa Music Foundation. In 1999 he was made a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Republic.
