Zachary Briers is a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson. He represents clients in their most significant technology-related issues, both in litigation and in technology transactions. Zach’s clients include some of the nation’s leading technology companies, including Google, Intel, Facebook, and Verizon, in addition to tech-focused founders, investors and philanthropists. Zach regularly represents technology companies in litigation concerning intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. He takes pride in distilling complicated facts into digestible narratives for judges and juries. Zach is co-chair of the firm’s Patent Group, and he often is lead counsel in high-stakes patent litigation, successfully representing both alleged infringers and patent owners. Zach also represents tech companies, founders, venture capitalists, and tax-exempt organizations in deals involving technology and intellectual property. He regularly advises clients on mergers, acquisitions, spin-outs and joint ventures that involve tech assets, and he has expertise negotiating licenses, distribution agreements and sponsored research agreements concerning intellectual property.
