John graduated from Durham University in 1995 and qualified as a solicitor in 1998, having trained with Mincoffs. He became a partner in 2002 at the age of 28. He has considerable expertise and experience in advising clients across a broad range of industry sectors on commercial issues ranging from the start-up of small businesses to flotations and substantial acquisitions and disposals. Notably, he recently led the team which advised Northern Bear Plc in relation to its flotation on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange and all of its many high profile acquisitions and fund raising projects. The Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession refers to John as being ‘clued-up’ and able to ‘break complicated matters down into bite-sized chunks’, and a ‘sensible lawyer who gets the job done’ who is ‘very good at what he does’. John’s opinion is highly valued by his clients and he is respected by his fellow professionals for his knowledge and for delivering what is required. The Legal 500 describes John as ‘an exemplary professional who possesses superior skills and knowledge’.
