Robert Cattaneo represents business clients in a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing transactions, corporate governance and securities compliance matters. Bob has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions having represented clients in the acquisition and disposition of manufacturing, distribution and service businesses throughout the United States and internationally. Many of these transactions involve representing U.S. clients acquiring or divesting multi-national businesses. In these transactions Miles & Stockbridge is responsible for the drafting and negotiation of the global transaction documents and those related to the acquisition or disposition of business units and assets located in the U.S. and Hart-Scott-Rodino compliance. Additionally, as the lead law firm, we are also responsible for supervising local counsels’ documentation of the aspects of the transaction that occur in foreign countries and compliance with the pre-merger clearance requirements of those countries. Bob has worked with a wide array of clients at Miles & Stockbridge, including publicly held, multi-national corporations, private equity clients, financial institutions and family-owned businesses. Bob is a co-chairman of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions practice area team and a former co-chairman of its Business Department. He also serves as the co-chairman of the Global Mergers and Acquisition Practice Group of TerraLex, a worldwide network of 15,000 attorneys in more than 155 independent law firms located in over 100 countries and 45 U.S. states. He is also part of the firm’s Coronavirus Task Force, a cross-disciplinary team that can quickly and efficiently deploy talent from relevant practices to address concerns and issues in real time.
