Michael Schwegler is a Member in McGlinchey’s Nashville office. A versatile attorney with a background in both transactional and litigation engagements, Mike concentrates his practice in representing creditors and lenders. Mike believes in, and has built his legal practice around, the principle that understanding a client’s business is paramount. Mike provides broad-ranging guidance in every phase of commercial lending operations, including negotiating transaction terms and preparing loan documents; developing compliant loan products, services, and programs; business formation and governance; and closing loans, including real estate, construction, industrial, and asset-backed loans. His representation extends to include bankruptcy and creditors’ rights; workouts; real estate development, zoning, and land use; Article 9 transactions; real and personal property sales; and lien priority issues. By integrating these capabilities, Mike builds longstanding client relationships. His knowledge of their strategic priorities, as well as the competitive landscape and operational challenges they face, enables him to provide legal support that’s simultaneously broad and bespoke; a uniquely customized approach that provides highly effective legal support.
