Bio

Gianluigi Pugliese has been with Ughi e Nunziante since 2000 and became a partner in 2011. He has consolidated experience in banking & finance, capital markets, debt restructuring, structured finance and financial market regulation. He is also an expert in private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions and the regulation of pharmaceuticals and phytopharmaceuticals. Gianluigi has assisted clients in the financial and industrial sector in numerous significant transactions, including BBVA in the takeover bid on BNL shares; the arrangers BNP Paribas and CA-CIB in various securitization transactions and, among these, the main securitisations of receivables deriving from the rental of vehicle fleets; Italian and foreign investment funds in real estate and private equity transactions in companies in the ICT, shipbuilding and major works sectors, industrial buyers in acquisitions in the logistics, components and pharmaceutical production sectors. Gianluigi has also provided legal advice on regulatory matters in the structuring of financing and financial products, including supply chain finance and reverse factoring products, After graduating with honors in law in 1999 at the University of Perugia, he was an expert on the subject in Private Law at the Chair of Institutions of Private Law coordinated by Prof. Antonio Palazzo. He subsequently lectured on structured finance, share acquisition contracts and unregulated markets, as part of the Master in "Business Law" at the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome. Lawyer since 2002 and attorney before higher courts since 2014, Gianluigi is a member of the board of arbitrators of ASSONEBB (National Association of the Encyclopedia of the Bank and the Stock Exchange) and frequently participates as a speaker at international seminars on banking law and capital markets. He has published numerous articles in trade journals and contributions to monographs on capital markets and banking regulation. He speaks Italian, English and Spanish.
