David Den Dooven regularly advises clients in all aspects of wealth transfer planning, probate avoidance, business succession planning, trust and estate administration, and asset protection planning. In his estate planning practice, Dave represents a diverse client base, from those with estates of $1 million or less to high net worth individuals and families. He helps his clients through the use of advanced estate planning strategies and tactics such as the use of irrevocable life insurance trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, defective grantor trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, and various types of charitable trusts. Dave holds a Certificate of Completion in the area of probate and estate planning issued by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Dave advises clients on a wide range of general corporate issues in both the profit and non-profit sectors, including entity formation as well as preparation and review of general corporate documents and contracts. He also has experience in the formation of private foundations and public charities and other charitable planning endeavors. David is an active thought leader, and several times a year speaks to industry groups, investment advisors, and other audiences on issues of importance. Prior to joining the firm, Dave was a senior tax consultant with a nationally recognized accounting firm, where he provided tax advice and compliance for both individuals as well as businesses across a wide range of industries, including real estate and automotive.
