Ambition. One of the most double-edged words in the English language. On one hand, it’s the force that keeps us dreaming bigger, doing better, pressing forward. On the other, it’s often the cause of restlessness and a ruthless inclination to overcome obstacles at any cost. It doesn’t take advanced powers of perception to see that Matthew Miller is an ambitious person. He is constantly thinking about improvements he might make or ways to utilize every ounce of his talent and efforts to enhance a client’s position. One of Matt’s best qualities – in fact, the one that attracted Katz Teller to Matt – is that his ambition doesn’t devolve into the restless or ruthless aspects of the word. Matt brings a healthy ambition balanced with high character to his daily work and his long-term objectives in building client relationships. At Katz Teller, Matt’s practice is concentrated primarily in the business and transactional realm. He counsels family-owned and privately-held companies on entity formation and organizational governance matters, member and shareholder relations, mergers and acquisitions, and the negotiation, drafting, and enforcement of commercial contracts. Matt also advises clients in real estate dealings, assisting in purchasing, selling, and developing residential and commercial properties, as well as negotiating and preparing lease agreements. Prior to joining Katz Teller, Matt practiced at a small firm in Cincinnati focusing on middle-market M&A transactions. He graduated from Indiana University with High Distinction in 2007, majoring in both Accounting and Finance, and he is a 2010 cum laude graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law. At Katz Teller, Matt is a member of the finance, risk management, retirement planning, recruiting, and Meritas® committees.
