Ryan Gravelle is an experienced attorney with extensive experience in private practice and as an in-house legal executive. Most recently as SVP and General Counsel for nGenera Corporation, a collaboration software company named by the Wall Street Journal as one of the 2010 top 50 VC-backed companies in the US, Ryan managed multiple mergers, acquisitions and asset transactions, helped raise tens of millions of dollars in debt and equity financing, and structured complex strategic alliances and partnerships. As general counsel, Ryan was responsible for legal activities across the company, including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships and alliances including OEM, VAR and joint venture agreements, commercial agreements, corporate governance, employment and human resource issues and IP portfolio licensing and protection. Ryan also has broad experience with social media issues and open IP platforms. Prior to nGenera, Ryan was on Dell Inc.’s legal team, where he supported Dell’s professional services business segment, and spent several years with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C., a Palo Alto-based law firm specializing in representation of technology companies. He sits on the board of directors of the Austin Parks Foundation and is a member of the steering committee of the Austin Chapter of the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, and he previously served as a director for the Austin Music Foundation, as well as a member of the technology committee of the Texas Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission. Ryan received his law degree from The University of Virginia School of Law. He received a B.A. in English and Political Science from Rice University.
