Bio

Brian Vuong is an experienced corporate lawyer who has advised high profile clients on public and private M&A transactions, corporate restructures, major projects and general corporate law. Brian’s experience includes acting on public takeovers, scheme of arrangements, Takeover Panel proceedings, capital raisings, private M&A, major infrastructure projects and strategic commercial transactions. Prior to joining Kain Lawyers, Brian had six years of experience at a top tier law firm in Adelaide advising high profile clients on their most complex and strategic transactions. His public M&A experience includes acting for Envestra Limited (now Australian Gas Networks Limited) on its $2.3 billion successful takeover by the Cheung Kong Infrastructure Group and the rival $2.1 billion scheme of arrangement proposed by APA Group, Discovery Parks in its $145 million recommended takeover of Aspen Parks Property Fund and Ambassador Oil & Gas Limited’s competing takeover bids by Drillsearch Limited and Magnum Hunter Resources Corporation. Brian’s M&A experience includes advising on complex and strategic acquisitions and disposals for such clients as European listed Jungheinrich AG, Cooper Energy Limited and Gazal Corporation Limited. He has also advised on major infrastructure projects, including the $450 million Adelaide Oval redevelopment. Brian’s strong legal skills are complimented by his pragmatic and commercial approach. He has honed his commercial acumen whilst on secondment as legal counsel to several ASX listed companies and the Scott Group of Companies. Brian has also taught commercial law subjects at the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia and facilitates the Commercial and Corporate component of the Law Society of South Australia’s Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.
