Christian E. Kimball is co-chair of Jenner & Block’s Tax Practice. Clients seek his counsel on matters involving all aspects of the federal income tax, particularly mergers and acquisitions and other corporate restructurings, and tax controversies. Chambers & Partners USA and Legal 500 have named Mr. Kimball one of the country’s leading tax lawyers, and his peers have elected him as an “Illinois Super Lawyer” in the area of tax law for eight years running. He is a member of the firm’s Aviation and Aerospace, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Private Equity/Investment Management Practices. He serves the firm as a member of the Audit and Investment Committees. Prior to joining Jenner & Block, Mr. Kimball spent four years at the multi-national Bcom3 Group and the Leo Burnett Company, where he served as general counsel and chief legal officer. From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Kimball was an associate professor at Boston University School of Law. Mr. Kimball has co-authored a book on the tax aspects of forming a corporation, published articles on the tax treatment of convertible debt and options, and spoken on numerous subjects related to federal income tax.
