Bio

Practicing law since 1979, George Igler has served as corporate counsel to a number of financial institutions, assisting management and boards of directors in creating both short and long-term corporate and business strategies. He practices in corporate and banking law, mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings, and reporting compliance for public companies. By forming Igler|Pearlman, after two years with a regional law firm, George has reestablished a boutique, banking law practice that previously spanned two decades. The nature of this practice enables attorneys to develop close friendships, establish long-term clients, and provide outside-the-box thinking in the creation of innovative transaction structures and agreements, including, for example, presenting the first multiple-thrift, one-bank holding company application to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He has represented banking clients in international banking matters, including in Portugal, Angola, and Brazil. He has served as counsel for Florida Financial Group, which held meetings bimonthly to update CEOs and Presidents of financial services companies on regulatory trends, and his former firm served as general counsel to Banc Services, a subsection of the Florida Bankers Association. George was a former assistant general counsel for the Florida Department of Banking and Finance from 1981 to 1983, and was a judicial intern for the Supreme Court of Florida in 1979.
