Dean Leffelman is a partner in the DuPage County, Ill., office of Ice Miller. He focuses his practice on commercial law and transactions including mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations, shareholder agreements, drafting business contracts, employment agreements, tax and business planning, joint venture agreements, and estate planning. In addition, Dean has experience representing buyers and sellers of commercial real estate including hotels, as well as landlords and tenants of manufacturing, retail, and office space. He also offers counsel on tax planning, assistance with financing, private offering memorandums and like-kind exchanges. He also provides legal services to higher education institutions related to the acquisition of other institutions; land development including stadiums, student housing and campus buildings; bond and conventional financing; vendor and outsourcing agreements; online academic program development agreements; certification and compliance counseling; employment and privacy matters; and intellectual property. As a member of the Firm’s Food and Agribusiness Group, Dean advises and represents clients in the food ingredient and food processing industry, restaurants, and horticulture companies. He graduated from John Marshall Law School, in 1979, with honors, Order of the Coif.
