Robert Wedlake is a partner of Hinman, Howard & Kattell and Chair of the firm’s Oil & Gas Practice Group. Rob regularly represents land owner coalitions in negotiating lease rights. He has successfully negotiated one of the few landowner coalition lease transactions to actually be signed in New York. Even in the face of New York’s moratorium, Rob obtained an agreement securing the landowner coalition members pre-payments for leasing their mineral rights. Rob also represents clients in natural gas litigation. Rob served as co-counsel in the Jeffrey v. Ryan litigation, which invalidated a moratorium on natural gas development imposed by the City of Binghamton. Rob also served as co-counsel in the case of Grafe-Kieklak v Town of Sidney, where again Rob helped to successfully overturn a local moratorium on natural gas development.
