Ariane Champoux is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office, where she is director of the Translation Services for all Gowling WLG's offices across Canada. She serves as national leader of this service. Ariane oversees and directs all aspects of this Montréal-based service and its team, which translates documents from English into French and vice versa, and other languages if the need arises. The translation team works for the firm’s clients on all manner of documents relating to securities and corporate law with particular emphasis on public and private securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions, contracts, cross-border and international lease financings, securitization, privatization transactions, advertising, accounting, administration, litigation, tax, labour, real estate, insurance and Indian affairs, only to name a few. Prior to joining Gowling WLG, she spent ten years in the field of legal translation with another law firm. Ariane has given numerous talks at conferences on the subject of legal translation. In addition, she is an active member of the organizing committee of the annual benefit concert of L’Atelier lyrique of the Opéra de Montréal and heads a fundraising committee for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal.
