Gaspar Atienza is a partner in the Corporate/Commercial Law practice of Garrigues, where he has pursued the majority of his professional career. He advises on all kinds of structured finance deals and restructuring processes, including corporate finance transactions (domestic and transnational) and financing of energy and infrastructure projects. He has also participated in a large number of M&A transactions and provides recurring advice on corporate, commercial and contractual matters to a wide range of clients, enabling him to gain a broad understanding of commercial transactions as a whole, while consolidating his expertise in the finance industry. As regards academic activity, Gaspar has been an associate lecturer at IE University since 2008, where he has given lectures and courses on both the legal master’s degrees and the Master’s Degree in International Relations. In 2013 he also taught a project finance module on a master’s degree course at Universidad San Pablo CEU. Gaspar has been included in the Best Lawyers directory in the areas of Banking and Finance Law, Project Finance and Development Practice, and Public Finance Law. In 2002-2003 he worked as an International Associate at US law firm Hunton & Williams in Washington, D.C. and he was seconded to the offices of Garrigues in São Paulo in 2011.
