Bio

Fernando de las Cuevas Castresana is partner, head of M&A at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo. He specialises in banking law, securities market law, collective investment schemes, mergers and acquisitions and family businesses. He holds a degree in Law and a diploma in Business and European Studies from Universidad de Deusto. He holds a diploma in Advanced European Studies from the College of Europe, Bruges. He obtained a research grant from the EFTA, Geneva. He completed a P.I.L. at Harvard Law School. Fernando has been Highly Regarded in recent years by IFLR 1000 for his work and extensive experience in the areas of Banking and M&A. In addition, he is also recognised in prestigious legal directories Chambers & Partners and Legal500 as one of the leading practitioners in the areas of Commercial, Corporate and M&A. Who’s Who Legal has recognised him in the area of M&A and Governance. He is the Spanish correspondent for the Journal of International Banking Law and World Securities Law Report, and has contributed as author to several specialised legal publications.
