Bio

Alfonso Areitio Basagoiti is head of Corporate M&A and Civil Litigation at the Bilbao office of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo. He has extensive experience in civil and corporate law, civil and commercial litigation, mergers and acquisitions and private equity. He also has extensive experience in civil and commercial contracts, litigation, arbitration and mediation in civil and commercial matters. He has acted on numerous occasions as arbitrator and mediator for the Court of Arbitration of the Bilbao Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation. He is Secretary of the Board of Directors of several private companies. Alfonso holds a law degree with distinction cum laude from the University of Deusto and has been acting as speaker in various conferences organised by CEOE, APD, INVERBAN and ELKARGI, among others. He is a regular contributor to national and international legal journals and publications, such as Aranzadi, Estrategia Empresarial and European Counsel.
