Jeff Mattson is a Partner, Co-Leader of the Firm's Corporate Practice Group, and Chair of the Firm's M&A Team. The M&A Team – known as the M&A Team for First-Time Sellers® - focuses its efforts on sales of privately held, middle-market companies. With partners averaging over 20 years of experience and having closed hundreds of M&A transactions, the M&A Team provides hands-on, senior-level expertise to sellers of businesses, who are typically going through the most significant financial event of their lifetime. Sale prices for these transactions typically range from $20 million to $500 million. Jeff also regularly represents several companies in their buy-side M&A transactions. In his career, Jeff has developed extensive M&A experience, closing nearly 400 M&A transactions. Approximately 50 of such M&A transactions have been Section 363 sales under the Bankruptcy Code or other distressed transactions. In addition to his M&A practice, Jeff advises a variety of companies, executives, and private equity funds on executive compensation, corporate governance, contracts, private placements, start-ups, joint ventures, and general corporate matters. He serves clients in a broad range of industries, including retail, food and beverage, insurance, chemicals, transportation, healthcare, manufacturing and service businesses.
