John Westwell stepped down as the firm’s Managing Partner in May 2022 after having taken the helm in 2008 – he remains at the firm as a Partner and Board member. Highly commercial, people-orientated and entrepreneurial John successfully focussed Foot Anstey on growing organically with an emphasis on securing and developing talented advisers for the firm’s dynamic client base. Under John’s leadership the firm’s turnover grew 147% from £20.1m in 2008/9 to £49.7M in 2020/21. John’s impressive leadership credentials led to him becoming a member of the Lawyer’s Hot 100 in 2016. In his spare time John enjoys travel and he is also an avid bee keeper.
