Jason Sutherland practices corporate and securities law with a primary focus on mergers and acquisitions, complex commercial arrangements, including joint ventures, corporate finance, corporate law and commercial leasing. Jason has extensive experience advising boards of directors and special committees on mergers and acquisitions (hostile and negotiated), corporate governance and shareholder activism. As a senior partner, Jason focusses on providing strategic advice in these areas. Jason advises entrepreneurs and start-ups to senior private and public companies who are successful in a range of industries, including mining, energy, technology, life sciences, cannabis and food and beverage. Jason assists Bands and First Nations and other Indigenous organizations with their commercial transactions. Jason has been selected for inclusion in the 2021 Edition of Best Lawyers in Canada© for his work in Mergers & Acquisitions Law, Corporate Law, and Securities Law.
