Michael Mulcahy is a founding Member of Dawda, Mann, Mulcahy & Sadler, PLC. He concentrates his practice on a wide scope of business and real estate transactional matters. Since the early 1970s, Mr. Mulcahy has been active in counseling clients on complex business planning issues, including acquisitions, liquidations, leveraged buyouts and general financial matters. In his practice of commercial real estate, Mr. Mulcahy regularly represents developers and institutional buyers in property acquisitions, dispositions and in the development of retail, office, industrial and multiple use projects. In connection with these types of projects, he also has extensive experience representing both developers and institutional investors in structuring complex financing, including lending transactions, syndications and joint ventures. Mr. Mulcahy also advises borrowers and banks with respect to loan workouts. Active in the legal community, Mr. Mulcahy is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association. He is a past chairman of the Partnership and Joint Ventures Subcommittee of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and has lectured on real estate law before legal and real estate groups. Mr. Mulcahy has been recognized by Chambers USA as one of America’s leading business lawyers since 2004 and was named in the last 13 annual editions of The Best Lawyers in America. He has also been listed as “Michigan SuperLawyers” by Law and Politics Magazine since 2007 and “Top 100 Michigan SuperLawyers” since 2009. Mulcahy has been listed as “Top Lawyers in Metro Detroit” by DBusiness Magazine since 2010, and was also listed as a “Top Corporate Lawyer” for 2016. Mr. Mulcahy earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, cum laude, in 1972 and was an Associate Editor of the Michigan Law Review. He earned his B.A. from Wayne State University, with distinction, in 1969 and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
