Bio

Jahan Islami focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, venture capital transactions, debt financings, private placements, and general corporate matters. Jahan advises entrepreneurs, investors, and company management on formation issues, financings, corporate transactions, operational and general corporate matters, and corporate governance. He has extensive experience in a variety of industry consolidations representing buyers, sellers, borrowers, lenders, and advisers. Jahan also works with distressed businesses in their reorganization efforts. Jahan regularly represents middle market clients — corporate clients, private equity firms, other private investment funds, and high net worth individuals — and acts as outside general counsel for a number of his private company clients. Jahan earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia. Jahan serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of The Miami Bridge, a nonprofit that provides shelter and counseling for Miami’s abandoned, abused, and runaway children.
