Marc Press is a Member in the firm’s Corporate, Finance & Business Transactions group. He has over 30 years of experience in the areas of corporate governance, securities offerings, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Marc guides both issuers and early stage investors through the complexities of debt and equity offerings. He also routinely counsels lenders and borrowers on credit facilities, including secured, asset-based and unsecured facilities; and both buyers and sellers in connection with merger and acquisition transactions. Marc’s practice also includes expertise in the formation and marketing of alternative investment funds. An early practitioner of cannabis law and Co-Chair of the firm’s Cannabis practice, Marc advises both plant-touching and ancillary businesses in connection with various corporate matters. Marc has immersed himself in this emerging industry. He is a proponent for the legalization of cannabis and regularly presents on the legal challenges and opportunities businesses face while navigating New Jersey and New York’s evolving laws. Members of the cannabis community turn to Marc for counsel on entity selection and formation, management and capital structures, raising capital through privately issued equity and debt and merger and consolidation transactions. He also advises individual and private equity investors in existing and early stage cannabis companies. He is a member of New Jersey CannaBusiness Association and CannaGather NJ and NY. Marc is also the chair of the firm’s Blockchain Technology and Digital Currency group, Marc regularly authors and speaks on topics covering the basics of Blockchain, distributed ledger technology and cryptocurrencies.
