Ms. Futter brings more than 25 years of experience to CKR, having advised and represented private and public companies, investors and boards of directors in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and equity solutions. She also represents financial institutions and equity funds investing in, restructuring or reorganizing assets or loans held in portfolios or involving foreign assets. She represents public and private lenders, acquirors, private equity funds, creditors committees, shareholders, public debt holders, trustees or debtors in restructurings, Chapter 11 and workouts in virtually every industry. Prior to joining CKR, Cynthia was a partner in Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP before founding Futter-Wells, where she remains a partner. Earlier in her career, Cynthia served as a partner at the Summit Alliance, a boutique law and financial advisory firm, where she led the Financial Strategy and Restructuring Group. She also acted as President of Summit Capital Partners, an affiliated private debt and equity fund, where she sourced capital for troubled enterprises using both institutional and private investors. Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Science and J.D. from the University of Southern California, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Order of the Coif, and served as editor of the Southern California Law Review, the USC Computer Law Journal and the USC Tax Planning Journal. She earned a Master of Business Administration from the Anderson Graduate School of Management from the University of California, Los Angeles. Additionally, she is a current recipient of the AV Pre-eminent Peer Ranking Award from attorneys, the judiciary forum on Lawyers.Com, and Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards through the confidential opinions of members of the bar and judiciary.
