Sam is a litigator. Prior to joining Cheng Cohen, Sam served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, rising to the rank of captain. He primarily served as a military prosecutor and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. He prosecuted hundreds of cases in military and Federal courts. Sam graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor of art in environmental geoscience and ancient studies. He also completed four years of training in the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps and was commissioned as a second lieutenant upon graduation. He then earned his law degree with honors from Saint Louis University School of Law. While in law school, he served as the Executive Editor of the Saint Louis University Public Law Review. His law review article was selected for publication and was recognized with the Best Student Comment Award.
