As Calfee's Managing Partner and a member of the firm's Corporate and Finance practice, Thomas Welsh serves as leader of the firm and counsels Calfee’s private equity, public company, and privately held business clients on general corporate and business matters, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, joint venture transactions, capital raising, and financing transactions. Tom has significant experience consummating mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and divestitures for private equity, public and private company clients. In addition, he provides day-to-day general corporate counseling to his clients and regularly negotiates and drafts all types of commercial contractual arrangements. In the health care industry, Tom advises hospital systems and other health care organizations, as well as early stage growth clients in the life sciences industries. Tom was recognized for his work in Corporate/M&A – Ohio: North by Chambers USA 2021 and 2022 in Band 4. Chambers USA researchers noted, "Thomas Welsh co-chairs the firm's Corporate and Finance practice, advising clients on M&A and buyouts."
