Catriona Macallan is a partner in our Corporate team. She specialises in advising public and private clients on a broad range of corporate issues including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, group reorganisations and general corporate advisory matters, with a particular focus on private equity transactions. Catriona originally trained and worked at Clifford Chance in London and Paris, advising domestic and international clients on complex, high-profile cross-border M&A transactions and other corporate matters. Catriona has a particular interest in East Asia, having studied and worked in Japan and China. As a proficient Mandarin speaker with a masters degree in East Asian studies, she has a keen understanding of the particular issues and considerations which affect both companies based in that part of the world, and those wishing to do business with them. Catriona represents the firm on the Cross Party Group on China at the Scottish Parliament and regularly presents on UK legal and investment matters to Chinese business groups and delegations.
