Bio

Anthony Gruppuso has been a civil litigator before the state and federal courts for more than two decades. His clients include accounting firms, trustees, medical practices, limited liability company members, manufacturers and distributors, and high net worth individuals. Anthony’s representations typically involve complex disputes across all areas of business law, including contracts, fraud, professional malpractice, domestic and international commercial law, as well as bankruptcy. A veteran of large law firms as well as his own private practice, Anthony brings to BMK clients an immense depth of experience and a multi-faceted skill set that is only achieved through highly diverse representations. He has represented a wide array of clients in various high-profile, high-stakes cases. Anthony was among the senior attorneys representing the SIPA trustee for the estate of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC in an adversary proceeding to avoid transfers and recover approximately $825 million from two foreign feeder funds. He represented the trustee for the chapter 11 estates of numerous real estate entities utilized by insiders to perpetrate a billion-dollar Ponzi scheme founded on the sale of tenant-in-common investments. Anthony also represented one of New Jersey’s largest real estate developers in arbitration proceedings at which ownership of more than 100 commercial and residential properties were at issue. Active in community and civic affairs, Anthony is a founding trustee and past president of The Baseball Club of Chatham, N.J., Inc., a non-profit corporation that organizes, administers and conducts all youth and travel baseball programs for approximately 800 children in Chatham, New Jersey. He has been engaged in numerous pro bono representations of veterans with claims for disability benefits before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims in Washington, D.C.
