Bio

Sheri Pizzi is an experienced trial attorney concentrating in the defense of medical and other professional liability lawsuits, with a focus on aging services litigation. She regularly appears in the state and federal courts in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and before arbitration panels to defend skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and other healthcare providers in complex professional negligence claims, including those involving elopements, falls, pressure ulcers, medication errors, aspiration, dehydration, wrongful death, assaults and other negligence claims. Sheri also represents individual professionals and institutions facing investigations by state licensing, disciplinary and regulatory authorities, and counsels healthcare providers on the complex web of state and federal rules, regulations and statutes impacting them. She conducts seminars for medical professionals on medical liability and risk management, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Healthcare Association. Sheri routinely defends complex employment matters in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including those arising under the ADA, ADEA, Title VII, and other state and governmental laws affecting municipal and private employers. She counsels medical practices and other employers on various issues, including: the discipline and termination of employees; the enforcement of arbitration and non-compete agreements; the protection of confidential business information; the creation of employee policies; and the resolution of wage and hour concerns. In addition to her litigation practice, Sheri serves as the firm’s Hiring Partner. She is a former co-managing partner of the firm, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, including working with the administrative team on financial matters, personnel issues, and systems.
