A founding partner at Almain, Edgard focuses his activity on mergers and acquisitions, and private equity. He advises investment funds as well as French and foreign groups, small and medium-sized businesses and start-ups. He has an extensive experience in cross-border transactions, distressed M&A, joint ventures, crowdfunding and management packages. He has also developed a specific practice in the financial services, energy, industry and agribusiness sectors. Over the course of his career, Edgard has been involved in more than a hundred transactions in France and the main European jurisdictions (in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Russia, etc.), as well as on other continents (the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Libya, Turkey, Vietnam, etc.). He recently advised Lactalis on the acquisition of AK Gida in Turkey, OpenGate Capital on the sale of Kotkamills in Finland to MB Fund, an investment fund, and the acquisition of Benvic Europe from Solvay, Goldman Sachs on the LBO in consortium with Bridgepoint on MédiPôle-Partenaires, mutares AG on the acquisition of Pixmania, Crédit Agricole CIB on the sale of Newedge to Société Générale and the sale of Cheuvreux to Kepler Capital Market. Edgard also supports his clients in litigation and pre-litigation disputes that may arise during his transactional activity. Edgard joined Gide Loyrette Nouel in 2003, leaving in 2015 to found Almain. He has been seconded to the Hanoi office during eighteen months. This experience allowed him to strengthen his expertise in mergers and acquisitions and foreign investments in Vietnam and South-East Asia. He has a DJCE (Diplôme de Juriste Conseil d'Entreprise) and a Postgraduate degree in Business law from Université Paris II - Assas. He also holds a degree from the Ecole de la Défense Pénale (Criminal defence law school) and previously lectured in mergers and acquisitions at the Ecole de Formation du Barreau (Bar Training School).
