Helmut Schuehsler Bio

Dr. Helmut M. Schuehsler serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TVM Capital Healthcare, Ltd., Dubai, UAE. He has been a Managing Director of TVM Capital GmbH, Munich, and Head of the life sciences investment business since 1998. Dr. Schuehsler joined TVM Capital in 1990 and was the founder of the life science and healthcare activities of the firm. He raised more than US$1billion for investments in the sector and led more than 25 direct investments in life science and healthcare companies in Europe, the U.S., the Middle East, and India. In total he has overseen more than 85 investments in the health market, and more than 40 initial public offerings from this portfolio. In 2007 and 2008, Dr. Schuehsler served as Chairman of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) in Brussels, Belgium. Currently he chairs the boards of healthcare growth companies, ProVita International Medical Center (Abu Dhabi, UAE) and Manzil Health Care Services (Abu Dhabi, UAE). He is also a Director at Concert Pharmaceuticals (Lexington, MA, USA) and f-star (Vienna, Austria and Cambridge, UK). For about 10 years he served as a Member of the Board of Max-Planck Innovation, GmbH (Munich, Germany) the technology transfer organization of the Max Planck Society. For several years he was a Member of the Selection Committee for the Technology Pioneers program, the Steering Committee of the Entrepreneurship and Successful Growth Research Program of the World Economic Forum (2009-2012) and the Advisory Board of Evolvence India Life Science Fund (Hyderabad, India).
